Version 0.1.5 - Developer Notes



Greetings all! I have made several small updates in a row which is why my version number has jumped several times. I was waiting until I got a big update before I made a dev log and now I think I am ready to share what I have been working on. Big shoutout to "Rakops" from IGC who had some good balancing ideas which I have started implementing here.
Button Effects:
I have bene playing Balatro in my free time and thinking about the design of my game, and I came to realize that the discard/patch effects that I have been trying to work with up until this point operate a lot like the Seals in Balatro. And it dawned on me that I can just make my secondary effects trigger like the purple seal in Balatro, thus Button Effects were born. I have several different colored buttons which trigger small and relatively straight forward effects. The cool thing about these effects is that they trigger when the card is discarded, so you can get benefit from your cards even when you don't cast them!

Rebalancing:
- Rebalanced fights
- Reworked how Top enemy status works
- Added drawback to heavy slash
- Omni -> Syphoning and Chaining
Bugfixes:
- Fixed bug with reflect damage going through shields
- Fixed bug with Body Slam going through shields
- Minor updates on UI, cards, tooltips, etc
