Version 0.0.8 - Developer Notes


Greetings all, these last couple of weeks have been heavily focused on the art side of things. I finally got around to replacing my AI placeholder card frames with my own 3d rendered frames which match the overall aesthetic of my game so much better ^_^ I'm looking forward to replacing more and more!

Features:

  • New 3d rendered card frames
  • Created binding animation 


  • Updated intro to move the gaining of your first treasure to happen between your first two fights.
  • Added music after victory against Pig Boss and also in act 2 as a teaser of that environment. 

Feedback:

  • Significantly lowered defense gained across the board. It still felt like discarding for defense was way too OP, so I cut it down so that each card gains 0-3 defense instead of the much higher numbers from before. 
  • Added a mechanic to the beetles to make them much less obnoxious to fight. 
  • Fixed some quotation mark inconsistency in the intro. 

Balancing:

  • Added a stronger attack to the tops
  • Made louses stronger 
  • Greed steals way more gold now 3 -> 25

Bugs:

  • Fixed issue where enemies would flip orientation in some situations
  • Realigned card position after updating visuals
  • Changed how tops self destruct to avoid behind the scenes errors.
